GLITCH Film Festival Me, My Mom and Sharmila - Fawzia Mirza

Alternately hilarious and tear inducing, Emmy Award nominated Fawzia Mirza brings her dynamic one woman show ‘Me, My Mom and Sharmila’ to Glasgow.

The show focuses on the struggle of writer-performer Fawzia Mirza to connect more fully with her mother, despite the difficulties that her identity as a queer actress and activist presents. Told through the lens of two women’s shared love for glamorous Bollywood film star Sharmila Tagore, this is a profound and exciting new play about family, identity and the space in between.

Emmy Award-nominated, acclaimed actress, writer, filmmaker, and producer Fawzia Mirza was honoured by The White House as one of ten Champions of change in Asian American art and storytelling.
