Washington Irving
Washington Irving have started work on new material, expanding their sound with new instrumentation and a new approach to songwriting. The band has made plans to record their first full-length record with Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, Real Estate, Widowspeak, the Walkmen, Swans) at his Marcata Studio in New Paltz, NY.
Before the band head into the studio they’ll be performing some intimate shows in Scotland to road-test their new songs, starting with a small and very special highlands tour in September before returning to Edinburgh and finally Glasgow, their adopted hometown.
"One of Scotland's finest new bands, they're carrying the folk torch and using it as an arsonist might" - Scott Hutchison, Frightened Rabbit
“a band hell bent of injecting a dose of rock n roll into the folk scene” - Punktastic
"Scotland's newest unmissable band”. - STV
“Washington Irving deliver a fine set of rousing, air-punching, anthemic folk-rock on their debut album Palomides. Making one tearful for the homeland without any hint of tartan tat or bagpipes; these are gritty, soulful songs that draw on traditional music and modern indie-rock. Catch them live when you can, for a heartfelt and emotional performance!” - Vic Galloway, BBC Scotland
