Jewish Film Club Shtisel

The Jewish Film Club brings films of Jewish interest to Glasgow and promote them within the wider arts community. Presenting around eight to ten screenings a year, the programme features a diverse selection of documentary, drama features and shorts, with a concentration on films produced within the last twenty years.

Shtisel, an acclaimed TV show portraying the travails of love in the Haredi community, signals a desire to connect with an oft-shunned sector of Israeli society. The series has been both critically praised for the script and the acting, and is said to faithfully portray aspects of Haredi life.
