Oma & Bella tells the story of best friends Bella Katz and Regina Karolinski, two octogenarian Holocaust survivors among the oldest surviving members of Berlin’s Jewish community, who moved in together when Regina had a hip operation.
With a delicate grace and a warm sense of humour, it's a touching portrait of the couple; as they make elaborate dishes recalled from their childhoods, before the Holocaust. Through the cooking of the sumptuous meals, they retain a part of their past while remaining very much engaged in the present.
