Lock Up Your Daughters Filmmaking is a queer collective based in Glasgow set up to help LGBTIQ people get involved with filmmaking. Running for over three years, the group has made a wide variety of short films and music videos that have been screened at a number of film festivals across the world. They are also regular faces at Glasgow’s annual 48 Hour Filmmaking Project, winning 'Best Film' in 2014 for their entry 'Debbie Does Dallas'.

Set up by a mixture of professionals and aspiring first-time filmmakers, their central purpose is to create a filmmaking community that gives back time, skills and expertise to support each new generation of queer filmmakers. As such their shoots are inclusive and very hands on, combining a friendly creative atmosphere and the tough love needed to transform ideas into art.

Aimed at people of all levels of skill and experience, their monthly project nights are an opportunity to meet new people and watch new queer short films, workshop scripts and get involved in a number of ongoing projects. They are particularly keen on supporting first time filmmakers so encourage anyone with an idea and a passion for making great films on small budgets to get in touch. Everyone and every style of filmmaking are welcome so whatever your background and whatever your style, come along and turn that idea into a reality.
