LUYDF are delighted to be joined by the Scottish Documentary Institute for this month’s meeting and to welcome regular members and new faces to come along and hear about how you can get involved in their Bridging the Gap scheme.

Bridging the Gap is open to all Scottish-based filmmakers, giving them the opportunity to work closely with Scottish Documentary Institute to make 10-minute documentaries. As well as a cash budget of up to £8K (plus in-kind post-production and distribution support) the selected filmmakers will receive further training and mentoring over six months to help bring their documentary ideas to life, with the intention of getting the finished film into in cinemas and festivals across the world. Past projects have screened in film festivals in over 45 countries and won numerous awards.

In this workshop, Flore Cosquer and Rebecca Day from Scottish Documentary Institute will be showing examples of past Bridging the Gap films, including the wonderful Twinset (2010) by Amy Rose, as well as giving us tips about how to get your ideas short-listed and hopefully made! So please bring along an idea for a 10 minute documentary and they’ll show you how to focus your proposal and pitching skills to improve your chances of getting onto this great scheme.

If you have any questions in advance of the meeting, please contact Bicola at bicola@lockupyourdaughtersmagazine.co.uk.

We look forward to seeing you there!
