NEW VENUE - LUX Glasgow Critical Forum: Relaunch

Following the fire on Friday night, all events at CCA until 1 July have been cancelled, postponed or moved to a new venue. Our thoughts are with our friends and neighbours at Glasgow School of Art and O2 ABC, and the incredible fire service. This event has been moved to Many Studios, 3 Ross Street, The Barras, Glasgow, G1 5AR.

The LUX Glasgow Critical Forum is a free monthly discussion, development and support group for visual artists, curators and writers who work with the moving image. The aim of the group is to develop a new mutually supportive environment for the members in dialogue with LUX Scotland as well as the other LUX-supported Critical Forum groups in London, Newcastle, Dublin, Dundee, Cornwall, Belfast and Bristol.

Over the next 12 months the group will work together with LUX Scotland’s support to explore the potential of the group situation for peer-learning, mutual critical and material support and development. While the group is convened and supported by LUX Scotland it is run by and for its members on a collective basis, and thus demands a degree of collective commitment from group members.

Minimum commitment is one meeting per month that will happen on the same Tuesday evening every month (6–9pm) at the CCA, Glasgow.

The forum is open to all artists, writers and curators who work with the moving image as part of their practice who are no longer in full-time education and who are willing to commit to the group as a participant for the next 6 months. After it begins the group works together for 6 months and no new members can join during this time.

There will be a preliminary meeting at 6.30–8pm on Tuesday 26 June to discuss how the group works and what it might do over the coming year.
