Following the release of their critically acclaimed recording The Coral Sea (Delphian Records), McKenzie Sawers Duo present an exciting new programme that encompasses classical, jazz, world and folk music influences from composers James McMillan, Gary Carpenter, Michael Nyman, Cecilia McDowell, Graham Fitkin and Judith Weir. Also especially written for this tour are the premieres of new works by Andrew Keeling and Martin Green (Lau).


McKenzie Sawers Duo is the foremost saxophone and piano duo in Scotland, and has performed at the World Saxophone Congress, International Music Matters Conference, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and UK venues as diverse as An Tobar (Mull) and The Forge, London. Sue is a D’Addario Woodwinds Artist and is the leader of the Scottish Saxophone Ensemble. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, Sue has also studied in Japan and the US and is the Director of the Scottish Saxophone Academy. She performs regularly with Salsa Celtica and the Glasgow Improvisors Orchestra. Ingrid is in demand as one of the UK’s leading collaborative pianists and has performed throughout Europe and Canada, enjoying a varied career encompassing instrumental and vocal repertoire, as well as being respected educator.
