Parting / Fògradh: New Books on the Highland Clearances

Public talks on two new books from transplanted Scots focus on the Highland Clearances from afar. Cape Breton University Press presents: Bearing the People Away: The Portable Highland Clearances Companion, by June Skinner Sawyers, and Fògradh, Fàisneachd, Filidheachd / Parting, Prophecy, Poetry, by Rev. Duncan Blair (1815-1893) in Mac-Talla, translated and edited by John Alick MacPherson and Michael Linkletter. This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Kildonan Clearances.
