Kick start your season with heritage potatoes and seed swapping!
Join the annual Potato Day gathering, hosted by Glasgow Allotments Forum. Celebrate our most versatile and nutritious food source – the Potato – with 25 varieties available alongside onions, garlic, seeds and compost.
Upstairs in the Billiard Room, Glasgow Seed Library will have a wide variety of seeds available for growing in a garden, allotment, window sill or balcony.
Have spare seeds to share or something special saved from last season? Come deposit them in the library for other growers to try!
Chat to our seed librarians about any challenges you’ve faced last season, and ways that community seed-saving and local adaptation can help us garden in an unstable climate.
Arrive early for your best pick of the potatoes, and stay for the chat. Tea and cake will be available to buy at the cafe.
This event is for anyone interested in growing food and saving seed in Glasgow, whether you are planning to grow for the first time, or if you are an experienced grower with an allotment.
