Winner of Best Documentary at Respect Human Rights Festival in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Radiance of Résistance tells the story of Palestinians Janna Ayyad 9 years old, and Ahed Tamimi 14 years old who have become global ambassadors for human rights. Janna and Ahed have gained international recognition for their creative resistance. Janna has been dubbed by The Guardian as "the youngest journalist in Palestine". In 2012, Turkish President Erdogan awarded Ahed the 'Hanzala Courage Award' NBC News Press said: “West Bank Teen Ahed Tamimi Becomes Poster Child for Palestinian Plight”

The film is a full length documentary (59 minutes,) that includes grass roots footage from local Palestinian journalist Bilal Tamimi. Award winning Filmmakers Jesse Roberts (PUSH Tunisia) and Jesse Locke (AMZ Productions) journeyed to the region multiple times over the course of a year to capture the story.

The film is an intimate look at their everyday lives and their importance as part of the new generation of Palestinian non-violent resistance. “Nabi Saleh images illustrate changing asymmetry of Israeli-Palestinian conflict” – The Guardian.

In recent weeks, Ahed Tamimi (now 16,) was arrested by Israel and has been held in a military detention center. Her arrest has prompted international protests and news coverage.

Proceeds from the screening will help to fund a cultural project and documentary film involving a group of UK and a group of Palestinian marathon runners.
