A pile of old airmail letters whose envelopes have been opened

The modern expectation when communicating with others is that a response will be more or less immediate. Emails and texts that go unanswered for days can cause concern and if we see two blue ticks on WhatsApp we are left wondering why they haven’t already replied. But it wasn’t always like this. Once we wrote and better still, received, letters. Phil will guide you through memories of letters and communications throughout your life, what they meant to you and the stories they invoke. He will also share extracts from the love letters that are at the heart of his new show, The Gods Are All Here (Wednesday 6th July, 8pm), recalling what was once so commonplace and reflecting on what we may have lost.
