History is Written by Garment Exporters

An exhibition of work by Indian graphic novelist, artist, and filmmaker Sarnath Banerjee.


The exhibition presented the humourous, surrealist, and sharply satirical comics of Sarnath Banerjee, exploring the city as an inhabited space, South Asian histories, and the contradictions of day-to-day life in contemporary India.


The exhibition included original drawings, watercolours, silk screen prints, and digital prints.


Notable work in the show includes: "Those Furry Things" (2011), "Lal Bazar" (2011), "Flaneur (Diptych)" (2012), and "The Story of Gama" (2011) a work consisting of original drawings, books, photographs, and archival materials.
