Science Fiction Lieder

Science Fiction Lieder is an original concept bringing together classical music and science fiction literature. Three young composers from Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom have each written a song cycle based on science fiction texts from their home country. The result is a concert presenting a unique interaction between three artistic worlds and a collaboration between three cultures in three languages that each offer a different version of an imagined future.

Since its premier in Switzerland on the 29th of August 2015 Science Fiction Lieder has been performed at several occasions in Norway and Switzerland. The project reaches the UK in December with concerts in London and Glasgow,

Science Fiction Lieder is a confrontation between music and literature, between tradition and futurism. With challenging texts, freshly produced contemporary music and playing on ancient instruments the performers present to us the sound of the future.
