Scottish Friends of Palestine Jerusalem: crucible for peace?

Scottish Friends of Palestine, in cooperation with Scottish Palestinian Forum, holds its spring seminar Jerusalem: crucible for peace? The seminar will examine the origins and background to the Haram, the competing claims to the Haram, the manipulation of this historic site by the state of Israel and its settler movement as they seek to further their political ambitions, the global impact and consequences for the Islamic world should Israel’s designs on the Haram bear fruit.
Speakers include:
Professor Yusuf Natsheh, Director of Archaeology and Tourism - Awqaf Administration, Jerusalem
Yonathan Mizrachi, CEO Emek Shaveh (an Israeli organisation of archaeologists and community activists focusing on the role of archaeology in Israeli society and in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict)
Dr Mahmoud Hawari, Curator for the Islamic Collections of the Middle East in The British Museum

The conference venue at the CCA has limited accommodation. Entry is free though donations appreciated. We anticipate wide interest in the seminar. It is advised that you register in advance to guarantee admittance.
