As part of the Glasgow/Copenhagen Creative Writers' Exchange, Danish poets and authors Lene Asp, Martin Glaz Serup and René Jean Jensen read from a selection of their works, followed by an open discussion of the texts recited and of the writers' working methods.
Martin Glaz Serup has published six children’s books (including his 2010 illustrated story When granddad was a postman), three chapbook-essays and six collections of poetry, the most recent one being the long poem The Field (2010). In 2006 Serup received the Michael Strunge Prize for poetry and in 2008 he received a Gold medal from The University of Copenhagen for his dissertation on Poetry and Relational Aesthetics, which is now being prepared for a book at the University Press of Southern Denmark.
Lene Asp’s publications include: forthcoming collection of short stories Samfundet (Society, 2013), Moræne, (After Hand, 2010), Strømme, (Anblik, 2007) and In the Multi-verse Democracy Rules All (2006).
René Jean Jensen was a panellist at the Testrup Højskoles/Dagbladet Informations Montana-master classes 2010-13, and has published poetry in a range of anthologies and magazines from 1991 to 2010. His work has been translated into both English (The Hat in 2009) and German (Neue Rundschau in 2013). Has also produced audiowalks for the City Museum of Copenhagen (Læseretning, 2005) as well as Eget ansvar for Louisiana in connection with the museum’s Literary Festival in 2010.
