Rodge Glass is the author of No Fireworks (Faber, 2005) and Hope for Newborns (Faber, 2008), as well as Alasdair Gray: A Secretary’s Biography (Bloomsbury, 2008), which received a Somerset Maugham Award in 2009. He was co-author of the graphic novel Dougie’s War (Freight, 2010), and his last title, Bring Me the Head of Ryan Giggs (Serpent’s Tail, 2012), appeared as Voglio la Testa di Ryan Giggs in 2013 (66thand2nd, Roma). His latest book, LoveSexTravelMusik: Stories for the Easyjet Generation (Freight, 2013), was nominated for the International Frank O’Connor Award.


His fiction has been published in Serbian, Slovenian, Danish, and Italian. He is currently Programme Leader in Creative Writing at Edge Hill University in Lancashire. Rodge will be discussing his writing process, with a focus on current work-in-progress: Once a Great Leader (a novel about a family who escape Pinochet’s Chile in 1974, and land in Glasgow). The book is based on research conducted while living and writing in Latin America.
