Pollination 1
This online seminar series will introduce useful information around pollination, seed-borne diseases and tackling seed pests.
In each event, a talk will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions and get support for your own seed growing and saving projects.
Seed Skills Seminars are suitable for people who have already begun their growing and seed-saving journeys and would like to dig deeper into the science and technicalities of saving viable and healthy seed.
About the speaker
Richie Walsh is Seed Sovereignty Coordinator for Scotland. He has an academic background in amenity horticulture, market gardening and plant conservation. He works professionally in the field of horticultural therapy and is a keen amateur botanist specialising in the heather family native to Europe.
He has a passion for community food growing. Over the last decade, he has set up and run community gardens in Dublin, Amsterdam and Glasgow. When not digging in a garden or wandering and botanising in the countryside, Richie can be found brewing his own beer, mead and hedgerow wines.
