Slow Food Glasgow Amatriciana - The Value of Food Heritage
Sat 10 December 2016
We regret that due to unforeseen circumstances this event has been cancelled
Amatrice is a small town in the Appenine mountains about 70 miles from Rome. Several independent efforts have sprung up to use the town's signature dish — Amatriciana spaghetti — to help relief and reconstruction efforts following the devastating earthquake in August.
A Future for Amatrice is the appeal established to help those affected by the earthquake, with hundreds of restaurants around the world adding Amatriciana to their menus. The proceeds will be donated to the relief effort.
However, despite this recipe now being under the spotlight, very few people know what it is exactly. CCA in partnership with Slow Food Glasgow have therefore developed Amatriciana: The Value of Food Heritage - a dinner event dedicated exclusively to this dish and the culture that created and preserved it throughout the centuries.
