Directed by Scottish filmmaker Kenneth Macpherson and starring poet H.D. (aka Hilda Doolittle) along with the renowned performer and civil rights activist Paul Robeson, Borderline was groundbreaking for its progressive treatment of race and sexuality. This silent film is also renowned as being ahead of its time in representing inner psychological states through avant-garde techniques. The screening is accompanied by a live score from Rick Anthony and Duncan Marquiss of The Phantom Band.
