Solar Flares: Deaf Heritage

Solar Flares: Deaf Heritage is a celebration of stories from the past, present and future of Scotland's deaf community. The project was developed by Solar Bear in 2020, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. All films were produced by deaf artists.

The CCA is delighted to be able to showcase the work of these artists during Deaf awareness week. We will be sharing Deaf Creatives by Ruaridh Lever- Hogg, Scotland, Forgive Me by Will Clark and The Twins of Edzell by Tania Allan.

Following the sharing there will be a panel discussion with Will Clark, Tania Allan and Trudi Colliers. Our panel will discuss: "What Deaf culture has been lost over the years with sign language not being a written language?"

This discussion will be followed by a drinks reception in the CCA courtyard area.
