Liverpool-born Colin Vearncombe, AKA Black, is probably best known for his legendary hits 'Wonderful Life' and 'Sweetest Smile', but he has released more than ten studio albums as well as several live albums in the past 25 years.
Eclectic, slightly melancholic and always classy, he is known as one of Europe’s finest singer-songwriters. Although it’s been 25 years since ‘Wonderful Life’ stormed the charts, it still regularly appears on ‘all time favourite songs’ lists, while the album was re-released in a collector’s edition by Universal in April 2013.
Colin has spent long periods both writing and touring, sometimes with a band, sometimes solo – but always with a passion for words and communicating with his audiences. In 2012, the first in a series of new EPs was released, while Colin played several European concerts, a run of UK gigs, and had a guest performance in Moscow's Olympic Stadium, in front of 24,000 people. In Spring 2013 he toured a number of intimate venues, stating his belief that “music is always about communication [...] and as much about the audiences as it is about me".
Alongside his songwriting and performing, other passions have emerged in acting, painting and poetry. Colin will be releasing a new album in late 2014, to be produced by Calum Malcolm of Blue Nile.
