An excellent evening of poetry in store with three wonderful poets

A former homelessness worker, Ian Duhig has written six books of poetry, most recently Pandorama (Picador 2010) and has won the Forward Best Poem Prize, the National Poetry Competition twice and three times been shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. Duhig has worked extensively on collaborative projects, this year publishing Digressions (Smokestack) with the visual artist Philippa Troutman based on their joint project working around Shandy Hall. He contributed to the Shirley Jackson Award-winning short story anthology The New Uncanny from Comma and to Smokestack's A Modern Don Juan with such Scottish writers he admires as Douglas Dunn and Bill Herbert.

Miriam Gamble is a poet and critic from Belfast. Her first collection, The Squirrels Are Dead, was published by Bloodaxe in 2010 and won a Somerset Maugham award in 2011; her second, Pirate Music, is forthcoming from Bloodaxe in September 2014. She lectures in Creative Writing at Edinburgh University.

Christie Williamson is a poet from Yell in Shetland, whose work in Shetland and English has appeared in the New Shetlander, Poetry Scotland, Northwords Now, Gutter and New Writing Scotland amongst others. In 2009, Arc o Möns, translations of Federico Garcia Lorca's poetry into Shetland dialect was published by Hansel Co-operative Press to critical acclaim, winning the Calum MacDonald Memorial Award. Oo an Feddirs is his first full length collection.
