St Mungo's Mirrorball Poets in Print

Five rising stars from across Scotland will read from their 2015 poetry collections. A wonderful opportunity to hear the best new poetry around.


Stephanie Green is English/Irish. She has an MPhil in Creative Writing from Glasgow University(2004), has received a New Writer's Award and several further bursaries from Creative Scotland. Her pamphlet 'Glass Works' (Cat's Pyjamas Publications, 2005), was shortlisted for the Callum Macdonald Award.


Ian McDonough was born and brought up in Brora on the East Coast of Sutherland. His third collection, The Vanishing Hitchhiker, was published by Mariscat in early 2007 and his latest collection from the same publisher – A Witch Among The Gooseberries - was published in November 2014.


William Bonar gained a distinction on the MLitt in Creative Writing at Glasgow University in 2008. He was a participant on the Clydebuilt mentoring scheme (2009-10). His poem, Visiting Winter: A Johannesburg Quintet, was chosen as one of the Best Scottish Poems of 2012 and he was shortlisted for a New Writers Award in 2015. He is the recipient of the James Kirkup Memorial Poetry Prize for 2014 and his winning manuscript, entitled Offering, was published by Red Squirrel Press in April 2015.


Eveline Pye was born in Glasgow. She worked as an Operational Research Analyst in the Zambian Copper Industry from 1975 to 1983 and lectured in Statistics at Glasgow Caledonian University for over 20 years. She was selected for the Clydebuilt mentoring scheme in 2009 and she read at StAnza Poetry Festival in 2012.


Lindy Barbour was born in Orkney and brought up in North East Fife. She now lives in rural Lanarkshire and is a psychodynamic counsellor, teaching Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh. She began to write poetry in a series of workshops held by Liz Lochhead at Glasgow School of Art.
