Synergy presents Olafur Arnalds + special guests

Ólafur Arnalds, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, started his musical life as a drummer for a series of metal bands in his native Iceland. His accidental foray into the neo-classical field began when German band Heaven Shall Burn asked him to provide piano and strings for their 2004 album Antigone.

Since then he has released the life-cycle concept album Eulogy for Evolution (2007) supported by a string quartet. A trio of EPs in 2008 and 2009 were followed by a tour with fellow Icelanders Sigur Rós. Most recently Arnalds has been working in the world of film; writing his first Hollywood film score for Sam Levinson's Another Happy Day amongst others.

Fans have waited long-and-hard for Arnalds' next offering in studio LPs, and this year's For Now I Am Winter is, without question, his most experimental work to date. And his love for electronic beats is still strong.
