Thulasi is a Dalit or “untouchable”: born outside of caste, she ran away from home aged 14 to escape forced marriage. Now a promising boxer in her early twenties, she continues to defy society’s expectations – in and outside the ring.

Yet despite her talent, focus and determination, Thulasi has been denied the opportunities she deserves. Undefeated, she punches well above her “light-fly” weight – battling poverty, corruption, sexual harassment and the pressure to marry – to win the right to define her own path.
