TalkSeePhotography’s Incubator events are a public platform where emerging writers and makers of photography can present their ideas alongside a nominated speaker within their chosen field. Following a open call for applications throughout the summer we are pleased to announce that Kim Simpson will be our second presenter in this series of events.
Kim Simpson is a photographer focusing her practice mainly in portraiture and still life, exploring identity and the impact of the visual norm; in particular with her ongoing personal project ‘Exottish’ exploring the visual norm in Western society.
As part of her presentation, Simpson will be examining if photography has the ability to act as an anti racist tool and the ways we could visualise the effects of racism and islamophobia to help people from different communities better understand each other.
