Talk See Photography
TalkSeePhotography February will see 'Seán Elder discuss Queer histories, political representation of bodies and intersectionality through a reading of a set of photographic work by, amongst others, David Wojnarowicz, Peter Hujar, Doug Ischar and Oladélé Bamgboyé.
'Seán Elder a graduate of GSA's Masters in Curatorial Practice and Gray's School of Art. He is interested in alternative Curatorial Models and Queer history. We are delighted to host his first serious foraging into the the rich history of queer photography and look forward to discussing how these important artists use(d) photography to de-marginalise lives and how their complex methodologies and intersectional impulses counteract reactionary conservatism, and influence research, non queer artists and mainstream consciousness.
