Alan Sharp

Join us for the highly anticipated book launch of "The Anti-hero's Journey: The Work and Life of Alan Sharp" by David Manderson.

The first full-length study of one of Scotland's greatest transnational writers, alongside Muriel Spark and Robert Louis Stevenson, whose work is now unfairly forgotten.

Published in April 2023 by Peter Lang publishers, it seeks to restore this Greenock-born novelist, television playwright and Hollywood screenwriter to the position in he deserves in Scottish literature and culture.

It is looking to be a memorable and engaging evening of literary celebration. Meet the author, David Manderson, as he shares his research, anecdotes, and the passion that drove him to bring the remarkable Alan Sharp back into the spotlight.

Endorsements:

'This labour of love is everything a critical biography should be...' (Carl MacDougall, writer)

'Deeply gratifying ...' (Howard Rodman, President of Writers Guild of America West)

'... remarkable...', Valentina Bold, Peter Lang series editor
