The Dotted Q Research Room

The Dotted Q is a collaboration between Lorraine Hamilton and Thom Scullion, specialising in interactive and immersive artworks that turn audiences into players and protagonists.

In Intermedia we will be bringing together our collective research for the development of a new immersive experience - working title: The Harrowing - which experiments with notions of liminality and the Otherworld. We have begun compiling a diverse selection of existing texts and aesthetics that connect to this theme, including the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, the ‘memory plays’ of Tennessee Williams, Dante’s Divine Comedy, the liminal Americana of David Lynch, and Victor Turner’s academic study of liminality and human ritual.

Over the course of three days we will be inviting a selection of artists and researchers to the space to help consolidate and refresh our ideas.
