The Fallen Angels Club - Adam Holmes & The Embers

With his own take on folk melded seamlessly to Americana, Adam Holmes has lit up the Scottish music scene with his band, The Embers in recent years.

His 2013 debut album, Heirs and Graces, was both melodic and striking with an assured touch that belied his youthfulness as a singer/songwriter. It won the former fiddler many glowing reviews as well as a nomination in the Scottish Album of the Year awards. His live shows – he appeared in 2015 at the Tonder Festival alongside Richard Thompson and John Prine, for example – also always prove impressive. The 25-year-old from Edinburgh has a new album due to be released next year.
