Still from Timecode, dir. Juanjo Jiménez

Come join us for a warm and celebratory night of cinema as we revisit some of our favourite short films from past editions of the Catalan Film Festival . This special compilation brings together stories that moved us, surprised us and stayed with us, full of daring ideas, distinctive visual forms and deeply human moments from Catalan filmmakers. It’s a chance to gather, remember why these films matter and enjoy them together on the big screen.

This event is also our first fundraiser of the season. As we prepare the 11th edition of the Catalan Film Festival, your support matters more than ever, and every penny raised on the night will go directly towards making CFF 11 possible. Please consider paying more than you usually would to support the festival on your ticket cost if possible.

Bring your friends, your chosen family and your community, and help us spread the word.

Programme

Timecode

Cucli

dir. Xavier Marrader | 17' | 2016
Ramon lives with his parents, although he is away most of the week working as a truck driver. These are long and lonely trips, until he meets a very special companion that changes everything. Cucli tells a story about love and companionship after death, and its transformative effect. A story about how, through memories, the supernatural can find its way into our mundane lives.

Los Desheredados

dir. Laura Ferres | 19' | 2017
Los Desheredados is a portrait of the director's father and details the end of their family business, a bus company.

Morning Cowboy

dir. Fernando Pomares | 15' | 2017
A man dressed as a cowboy rides his horse down the path of his dreams.

De sucre

dir. Clàudia Cedó | 25' | 2024
Maria is 30 years old, has an intellectual disability and a desire deep inside, she wants to be a mother. The lack of understanding towards her desire will lead her to a fight for her rights, to an uncomfortable rebellion to recover the decision-making power over her own body.
