Joan Eardley is one of Scotland’s most acclaimed artists of the 20th century. Her paintings of the slums of Townhead in Glasgow with their street children and tenement buildings convey a sense of place on the cusp of huge social upheaval. The children who became the main focus of Eardley’s work were the 12 siblings of the Samson family.

Join us for a life-drawing workshop with two members of the Samson family, Ann McKenna and Pat McLean (nee Ann and Pat Samson), as in-person models. This informal, two hour class will include a number of short warm-up poses followed by a longer, one hour pose.

Please bring your own materials

Free refreshments will be provided

Ann and Pat will be happy to share their fond memories of Joan at the end of the session

All ticket revenue for this event will go directly to the models.
