UKJF Forgotten Soldier / 100 Faces

Thu 21 March 2019

Forgotten Soldier

Sally Noach’s refusal to tell his family about his actions during the war meant that his children had little idea of their father’s massive rescue operation in Lyon in the early 1940s. Almost four decades after the Dutch businessman’s death, his daughter, Lady Irene Hatter, embarks on a journey to find out the truth behind her father’s bravery, which helped save the lives of hundreds of Jews. Narrated by Zoe Wanamaker and Henry Goodman, Forgotten Soldier is a moving story of one man's mission to fight the Nazi killing machine.

Screened with short 100 Faces.
BAFTA-nominated composer and director Benjamin Till explores what it means to be Jewish in this quirky and heart-warming musical film.

Till set himself the task of finding 100 British Jewish people, one born in every year between 1918 and 2017. By the end of the film, an entire lifetime of faces will have passed in front of viewers’ eyes. 100 Faces is a true celebration of the diversity of Jewish people filmed in Manchester, Northampton and London.
