UNFIX Festival: ReBirth! James Shearman & Rosie King - Perpetual Prism
Sun 18 December 2016

James Shearman and Rosie King
Perpetual Prism is an amplified sequence of actions which make up a probing ritual of rebirth. It is concerned with dependency, intimacy, fragility, the nature of home and the small sounds that go unheard. It is an ongoing escape act in which the artists are caught up incidentally in the ebb and flow of emblematic processes. The work will involve loud noise and nudity, audience discretion is advised.

James Shearman is a 22 year old emergent artist born and based in Leytonstone in North-east London. His work focuses on performance, specifically improvised and noise-based actions, and site-specific installation. He has a keen interest in the written word, sound for film, soundscapes and field recording and the use of amplified objects within experimental musics. He has been performing live work around London, and some other parts of the UK, since 2013.
Rosie King is a 19 year old queer emergent artist. She recently moved to London to study Womenswear Design Technology at London College of Fashion. Her work focuses on gender identity and sexuality and exploring these through fashion and textiles. Her performance practice with James to date has tried to explore a relationship between experimental music and sound art and these fields.
