Young Person Board Placement

CCA is looking for a young person (age 18-25) to take up a placement opportunity for twelve months working with our Board of Directors. The placement aims to offer insight and a development opportunity to anyone wishing to learn how a board works and to offer a platform for a young person to have a voice in the discussions that take place around the big picture decisions of an organisation.

The placement will run until the 31 March 2020 and would involve attendance at four full board meetings (usually January, March, June and September) as well as some attendance at sub-committee meetings for programming, finance and development. These generally take place at CCA from 6pm-8pm. There will also be opportunity to meet with individual members of the board and with key CCA staff to gain deeper insight in to the organisation and for board members to offer some mentoring and support.

CCA is a unique and diverse art space in Glasgow that aims to support artists based in Scotland within a programme that is internationally significant. It provides a major platform for experimental work across artistic disciplines while actively supporting more traditional art forms. In addition to the galleries, the venue operates a multi-purpose theatre, cinema and meeting space as well as the Creative Lab residency programme.

In addition to its core programme CCA supports a range of partners and collaborators to present new work in the building, ensuring audiences have access to a rich and diverse programme.

CCA is a hub for the local artistic community and makes an important contribution to the cultural life of the city, offering a range of activities that encourage people to enjoy and access the arts. CCA is an organisation that aims to think and debate contemporary issues in a public space and has, at its heart, the prospect of cultural and social change explored through art.
