WARM Sundays Susannah Stark

WARM Sundays
For this WARM session in the CCA theatre Karolina Lebek and Susannah Stark present new music and collaborative work with surround sound installation in English and Lemko language. At a time where public spaces are dominated by disembodied, digitised voices, we are interested in the voice as a sculptural material and in the ability of an expressive female voice to affect physical spaces of disorientation and change; creating shared experiences of altered consciousness-like visions in the disjunction between digital imaging and low-fi sound effects, the interior and exterior of mouths, and exorcism of verbal parasites.
This event corresponds with an ongoing project between Hussein Mitha and Susannah Stark: 'capitalism and the occult: experiences of poverty’ a collection of text, books, objects and poems exploring women's voices and the Occult as a subject as both interwoven with capital, yet also as a means of resistance to it.
An Occult book section will be available at the opening of the Rattle Library at Glasgow Autonomous Space on 27th August after the CCA event, with group readings taking place later in the year.
Join WARM and Susannah in the theatre to experience this new work followed by a discussion with the artists on the ideas surrounding it.
WARM is a support network founded by and for women working as artists in Glasgow. Email: warmglasgow@gmail.com for more information or to become member.
