Weekend of Improvisation in Glasgow III: Workshop by Vonnegut Collective

Sun 12 January 2020

Gary and Adam 800 7po8

To mark the end of the third incarnation of WIG, and their first time in Glasgow, special guests Vonnegut Collective will run a public workshop introducing participants to their music improvisation practice.

Gemma Bass (violin) and Gary Farr (trumpet), founders and directors of the Collective, will provide the participants with the opportunity to take musical concepts for improvisation and transfer them into the body and the space. Drawing on practices by Pauline Oliveros and John Stevens, as well as their own unique skill set, the Vonnegut Collective will facilitate a space for creativity and play.

The workshop is open to those who wish to gain a deeper understanding and develop their improvisation skills, as well as those with a curiosity to meet improvisation for the first time.

ICEBERG offer a bundle ticket for the two workshops (Friday 10th & Sunday 12th January), and the Saturday performance for £20/£13. To book for this event or the bundle ticket, please contact Zoe on icebergimprovisation@gmail.com
