Join us for a writing workshop focused on process and poetics, hosted by the wonderful CCA Glasgow!
In this workshop we will explore making meaning by turning towards and away from language. Through experimentation with systems of mark-making and notation, we will investigate the shapes and shades of meaning at the edge of language and understanding. Focusing on conversations and process rather than outcomes, a series of prompts will guide our writing towards performative world-building through the visual and sonic body of language.
With the aim of generating new ideas and approaches to writing, we will look for inspiration at speculative fictions such as Riddley Walker by Russel Hoban, The Slynx by Tatyana Tolstaya and Blue Lard by Vladimir Sorokin; alongside texts and drawing by Travis Jeppesen, Renee Gladman and Henri Michaux.
Refreshments and materials provided. All levels of experience are warmly welcomed!
