JTTE Friday opening night live performances features Japanese DJ ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U who is considered one of the best in the world by his peers - playing a three and a half-hour cross-genre set in the CCA Theatre. Based in Tokyo, he brings his mind-bending, versatile mixes to Glasgow for the first time. His experimental approach from the more meditative and ambient to high-paced intensity and noise blends unexpected sets propelled by his gripping performative presence. His approach to DJing has been influenced by formative experiences with DJ NOBU, and his programming of the Zone Unknown parties in Osaka and Kobe. The performance runs from 9:30pm – 1am and mixes in tracks from his recent release Midnight Is Comin’, highlighting some of Japan’s underrepresented experimental electronic musicians.
