About CCA
CCA is a not-for-profit, multi-purpose, centre for contemporary art and culture located in the city centre of Glasgow. We host a year-round programme of exhibitions, events, films, music, literature, workshops, festivals and performances. As part of the venue’s development, CCA will open an in-house bar to serve our audiences and programme partners.
Role Specification
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Bar Staff. The ideal candidates will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-faceted and cultural environment. As a member of our bar team, you will play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our patrons through exceptional beverage service and friendly interaction.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks, according to established recipes and standards.
Welcome and engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, making recommendations, and providing assistance as needed to ensure a positive experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies, cleaning glassware, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
Work collaboratively with other bar staff, servers, and kitchen team members to coordinate orders, expedite service, and deliver a seamless experience for guests.
Stay informed about the bar menu, including current offerings, specials, and promotions, and be able to answer questions and provide recommendations to customers.
Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, including checking identification and preventing overconsumption.
Skills
Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently during busy periods.
Basic maths skills and proficiency in handling transactions accurately.
Knowledge of beverage service techniques, including mixing, pouring, and garnishing drinks, is an advantage.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and standards as required.
