Acting Up Drama workshop for kids and young people
Please note this event has moved to the Renfield St Stephens Centre, 260 Bath St, Glasgow G2 4JP
Following the fire at Glasgow School of Art and the O2 ABC music venue, the Centre for Contemporary Arts remains within the cordoned area in Garnethill. At this time, we expect to remain closed until Monday 15 October.
We are working with our programme partners who had scheduled events throughout this period. Details of new venues and cancellations are here.
ACTING UP provides innovative drama workshops throughout the year from the ages of 4.5- 16. It is run by award winning writer and actor Clare Hemphill and her enthusiastic young team. It provides a safe and cost friendly space for the children to develop their creativity, confidence and performance skills. Importantly too, it is a place to have fun and make friends, while the adults relax in the café or wander round the book/craft shop and CCA exhibitions.
Clare crafted her skills through working with some of the most innovative theatre companies in the UK. She is an accomplished actor, TV and film writer with a comedy background. She encourages the children to find their own individual voice and every year there is a Christmas and Summer Show for them to present to the public their own unique take on the world. All classes are keenly priced and all classes offer a three week trial at £6 PAYG. Email Clare at clare.hemphill@talktalk.net or text 07974270053.
Acting Up offers a short half hour class, specialising in communication for children and young people who have ASD - i.e. those who find it difficult to access the mainstream class and need a little more care. If you have a young person who you think might benefit from that class, feel free to email Clare directly at clare.hemphill@talktalk.net or text 07974270053.
