NEW VENUE - Free Pride 2018
Sat 14 July 2018

Free Pride
Please note, this event has moved to the Queen Margaret Union, 22 University Gardens, Glasgow G12 8QN.
Following the fire at Glasgow School of Art and the O2 ABC music venue, the Centre for Contemporary Arts remains within the cordoned area in Garnethill. At this time, there is no set date for re-entry, and the centre expects to remain closed for the duration of July and August.
We are working with our programme partners who had scheduled events throughout this period. Details of new venues and cancellations are here.

Free Pride is an independent and community-led LGBTQ Pride event, with three core values: Pride should be radical, inclusive, and free.
We are back for 2018, with a full day of stalls, talks, workshops, music, arts & crafts, and ideas sharing! By exploring a variety of topics, and building new ideas together, we hope to address the increasing commercialisation of Pride, and exclusion of marginalised groups within the LGBTQ community.
Free Pride is a day for everyone, and especially those who feel left out by mainstream LGBTQ events. We aim to be as accessible as possible for as many people as possible. All talks/discussions will be presented with BSL interpreters. Printed text of talks will be available, in standard and large-print. Soundproofing headsets and sensory tools/fidget toys will be available. Toilets will be gender-neutral for the full duration of the event. The event is family-friendly.
Free Pride is completely free to attend. Contributions towards travel expenses for those in the asylum system, or those with additional transport needs, will be available.
We operate a safe spaces policy, and we will be on hand to answer any questions and help you understand what this means in practice. If there are other ways we can make this day better for you, let us know!
Join us for a day of celebrating, learning, protesting and coming together to imagine something better. We want to take Pride back to its radical roots, and have fun doing it!
