Vacancies

Film Hub Scotland New Promoters Scheme
Vacancies with CCA, Glasgow Film Festival and Glasgow Short Film Festival

Do you have a passion for film? Would you like to gain paid experience in film exhibition? Then the Film Hub Scotland New Promoters Scheme could be for you.

Film Hub Scotland are offering an exciting training opportunity for people who’d like to better understand how to programme films for audiences in Scotland through the New Promoters scheme. This role aims to increase the number of film programmers, who are marginalised, working for cinemas, festivals and venues within Scotland. This includes those marginalised due to race, gender, sexuality, age, class, and disability. This comes from a recognition that these identities are not adequately represented within the Scottish screen industry.

This Scheme will be hosted by three organisations: Glasgow Film Festival, CCA Glasgow, and the Glasgow Short Film Festival between November 2019 – April 2020. Each candidate will work for one organisation but have the opportunity to meet and engage with others taking part in the scheme.

The role will be office-based and you will be supported to show films and create events, learning about distributor negotiations, screening formats, film transport, venue selection, audience development and how to create an effective marketing campaign.

In addition to this Film Hub Scotland will provide training from film industry experts in selecting and showing films, creating and running events, organising festivals and marketing.

The fee for the duration of the role is £3,168 (worked out at £9 per hour, 2 days per week)
